“I had a wonderful personal experience during the motherhood/breastfeeding photoshoot with my son. For a while I’d noticed Java didn’t want to be breastfed anymore. He was slowly stopping. I asked Ruby because I wanted the breastfeeding moment tot be beautifully and authentically captured. Not a perfect picture, but one that captures the warmth and beauty that breastfeeding has brought me. And Ruby did a wonderful job. I am a returning customer, as Java had already been photographed in my womb, and I couldn’t have been happier with my choice. About two weeks after the photos were taken, Java refused my breast. With tears of pride, I can now look back on the wonderful images that perfectly capture what this journey with Java felt like for me. Thank you Ruby!”

“I had a newborn shoot with Ruby. Already from the preparation, I loved her creativity. She listened to how I felt postpartum time and came up with interesting conceptual ideas to show it. The pictures hit that spot between being creative and unusual, and capturing the reality of my experience at the same time. I love them. If you want something different in your family photos, Ruby is your girl!”

“We were meant to go to the beach. Ruby had a vision, and I’ve always trusted her. But our kids, our mothering, the chaos of everyday life drove a bus right through those plans. So we pivoted. Found a lake nearby—one neither of us had ever been to.

It was a hot summer evening, and the dunes around the lake were packed—mostly with drunk people. I felt nervous at first, having an audience for this kind of shoot. Because this wasn’t just about taking photos. It was about capturing me. Not me as ‘just a mum’ (though most days, that’s what I feel like). But me as a woman. My confidence. My softness. My strength. My femininity.

We started in the dunes, between the trees. But the water kept calling. And once I was in, I had the urge to wet my hair. My hair that’s been my point of insecurity for so long—thin, fragile, greying since I was 18. But like my confindence, it’s grown stronger and longer. And somehow, it’s become one of the thing I love most about my appearance.

Ruby saw all of it—and, as always, she captured it beautifully.”

“The second Ruby came in it felt super natural to have her in our space. Every one was right at ease and continued playing, nursing and business as usual. My 10 month old was instantly drawn to Ruby and her tools. The pictures are beautiful, unpolished, very much us. Such a beautiful reminder of our little life we build together and the start of a beautiful family album tradition.”

“We (a family with 5 kids aged 1, 3 and 6) really enjoyed the photoshoot with Ruby! There was a relaxed atmosphere and the kids could be 100% themselves and that is clearly visible in the images. Ruby makes contact easily and is quietly present in the background, but also knows exactly what to say to make everyone feel at ease. She has captured how different the kids all are. The photos are truly little works of art that we will cherish forever.”

“It was great to work with Ruby. I saw her photos and immediatly thought: I want that too. That family life is captured in a beautiful, raw and real way.

I don’t know Ruby that well, but it immediatly felt familiar when she came in. I could just wear what I felt comfortable in, and the children could do whatever they wanted. They didn’t have to do anything, and neither did I. That’s why I think the photos turned out so beautifully, because they are pure.

Ruby could sense my children very well, and they completely immersed themselves in each other. I think The details she sees are really cool. I also really liked how she worked with the light. I am definitely going to ask her again. I am really happy with the photos, they are a gift to me and my family.”

Coco

“Ruby photographs pure, honest and raw with an eye for detail. During the shoot with my daughter she captured details that I would otherwise forget. Details that are priceless to me as a mother.”

“I chose Ruby to capture me and my children because her work speaks to something deeper—she has a rare ability to capture the ‘not so obvious’ beauty in everyday moments. Her photos aren’t just professional, polished shots; they’re full of emotion, drawing you in as if you were there.

During my mother-baby/breastfeeding shoot, I felt completely at ease, even though I was practically naked most of the time. It never felt staged of forced—just natural. She would suggest an idea and then let me interpret it in a way that felt right for me. The result? Photos that are not only beautiful but deeply personal and full of meaning.

If you’re looking for a photographer who doesn’t just take pictures but captures feelings, I can’t recommend Ruby enough.”

Maaike

“I absolutely loved my shoot with Ruby. She made me feel comfortable, and the whole experience felt natural and relaxed. What truly sets her apart is the way she takes the time to see you as an individual, ensurin that your personality shines in every photo.”

Liza

“Ruby came to my house to shoot my second pregnancy. She instantly made herself at home which made the shoot super comfortable. She was open to experiment which resulted in beautiful shots.

Ruby is able to shoot great in a short time, even though we took about an hour. I will cherish these pictures for a lifetime. Although I didn’t think about it she opted for some shots with my toddler and dog. It shows she really knows what family photography is about.”

Melanie

“I was honoured when Ruby said she could capture my breastfeeding journey. We found our perfect spot in the dunes but the elements were challenging us with rain, wind and sand but non of this phased Ruby. She made me feel so beautiful and confident in a very vulnerable state. She was incredible to work with. Focused and so caring. This experience is imprinted deep in my heart and soul. Thank you for sharing your passion with the world Ruby.”
